Rhenus Logistics: Development of transport links between Europe and Central Asia
Rhenus has been operating in Kazakhstan since 1996, combining in-depth knowledge of the local market with global network capabilities to provide high-end logistics solutions. Today, Rhenus is represented in three locations and unites a team of more than 100 logistics professionals, offering customized services for all key modes of transport. This includes road and rail transportation between the EU, Turkey, the CIS countries, China and Central Asia, as well as air delivery of urgent goods.
Rhenus also provides comprehensive multimodal solutions from Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent to Central Asia via China, as well as from Europe, America and Africa to Kazakhstan via transport hubs such as Riga or Poti. Additional features include transshipment from wagons to containers, export of agricultural products, as well as transportation of project cargoes, including oversized and heavy ones.
A separate strategic advantage of the company is the ownership of a fleet of approximately 25,000 containers, which ensures scalable, flexible and operational import and export operations throughout the region. Combined with the comprehensive services of container terminals, this forms a powerful end-to-end logistics offering for customers focused on efficiency, reliability and sustainable development.
Central Asia and the Caucasus are rapidly gaining strategic importance in the context of the restructuring of global trade. With the diversification of flows and the adaptation of supply chains to new realities, the region is becoming an important hub on the Trans-Caspian Corridor connecting East and West and ensuring long-term economic growth. Kazakhstan's geographical location on key land and multimodal routes makes the country a natural gateway between Europe and Asia.
"For us, the region's importance goes far beyond its transit potential. One of our strategic priorities is to strengthen the Rhenus Group's position on the Trans-Caspian International Transport route by expanding important infrastructure such as terminals and warehouses, as well as building sustainable and reliable supply chains," said Heinrich Kerstens, Project Director of the Rhenus Group Board of Directors.
Looking to the future, Rhenus implements a clear regional strategy based on the legacy of the family company and long-standing principles of reliability and partnership - for customers, for the region and for the entire global supply chain.
