Flight between Kazakhstan and Japan can be opened this year

The Civil Aviation Committee is working with airlines to open a direct regular flight between Kazakhstan and Japan this year, the press service of the CAC reported.

Airlines of Kazakhstan and Japan have the right to operate on 14 regular flights a week on each side without restriction. Destinations for Kazakhstan carriers are Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and for Japanese are Astana, Almaty, and Karaganda.

The legal base necessary for regular flights between Kazakhstan and Japan was established by the committee in 2016, the report clarifies. The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed the Cabinet at an expanded government meeting to ensure the launch of flights to the United States and Japan, stressing that the issue should be resolved within a year.
