Kazakhstan intends to launch traffic on 528 kilometres of roads in 2018

According to the results of 2018, in Kazakhstan it is planned to open traffic on a section of roads 528 kilometres long. This was announced at a government meeting on November 19 by the Minister for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan, Zhenis Kasymbek.

In the field of the road industry, the state program provides for the construction and reconstruction of seven thousand kilometres, repair 10 thousand kilometres of roads of national importance. Since the start of the implementation of the Nurly Zhol state program of infrastructure development, 1.1 trillion tenge has been allocated and mastered for the construction, reconstruction and repair of republican roads, including 284.8 billion tenge from the Republican budget, and 472.8 billion tenge from the National Fund, loans at the expense of the International financial institutions at 336.5 billion tenge.

"With the funds allocated, 2.4 thousand kilometres were built and reconstructed, including 600 kilometres in 2018, 7.5 thousand kilometres repaired, including 1.6 thousand kilometres of national roads in 2018. (...) According to the results of the current year, it is planned to open a movement on 528 km," Zhenis Kasymbek said.

As explained by the MID, the following sections will be put into operation: Centre-East - 243 km; Centre South - 30 km; Uralsk-Kamenka - 35 km; Beineu-Akzhigit - 85 km; Almaty-Taldykorgan (bypass of Sarkand) - 16 km; Kordai bypass - 19 km; Astana-Petropavlovsk-GR.RF (on Kurgan) - 25 km; Taskesken-Bakhty - 10 km, Schuchinsk-Zerenda - 30 km, Taldykorgan-Ust-Kamenogorsk - 20 km, Kalbatau-Maykapshagai - 9 km, South-West Bypass of Astana - 6 km. Works are fully completed on Uralsk-Kamenka projects at 73 km, bypass of Kordai - 40 km, Beineu-Aktau - 60 km and Balpykbi-Taldykorgan and Sarkand bypass - 40 km.
